Bowen is North Queensland's oldest town and murals around town show our history. Beautiful tropical weather and beaches are prominent. Lookouts around town show the area in all its splendour including the fishing port. Fresh seafood is always abundant from the fishermans wharf co-ops. Centrally located between Townsville and Mackay, it's a great place to stop.

Erected on the 25th May 2002, and standing at 10 metres/32.8 feet high, this iconic Australian landmark is a must see for all visitors - and there's even delicious mango sorbet available at the information centre next door! Bowen Cup Race Day

The Bowen Cup is held at Bowen Turf Club on Flemington Road. It is a great opportunity to dress up have a flutter on the horse's and have some fun at a country race meet.
