John Flynn dreamed of a cathedral within Central Australia where all people could gather and worship. After his death, his friends across Australia built one in his memory. It was opened by the Prime Minister in 1956, and its design was a result of a national architectural competition incorporating passive cooling, local and national symbolism in its design.

Take a self-guided tour, walking the sign of the Cross built into the Church's design. Reflect for a moment on his life, and your own, in this peaceful sanctuary. The Alice Spring Uniting Church community continues to worship in the building on a Sunday morning at 9.30am. The community continues to seek to be a safe and welcoming space to all visitor's and local's no matter their race, gender, sexuality or wherever they are on their faith and life journey.
