NSW Vouchers:
a guide to claiming & using your vouchers


If you're looking for information about the State Government's Dine & Discover NSW initiative, you're in the right place. We have plenty of handy info to help you make the most of the scheme.

Dine & Discover NSW has expanded with more vouchers to be used at more registered businesses. There are now four different types of redeemable vouchers, and NSW residents can receive:

  • 3 x $25 Dine NSW vouchers (additional 1 x $25 Dine NSW voucher if previously received)
  • 3 x $25 Discover NSW vouchers (additional 1 x $25 Discover NSW voucher if previously received)
  • 1 x $50 Stay NSW voucher
  • 5 X $50 Parents NSW vouchers for eligible residents with school-enrolled children

Stay NSW and Parents NSW vouchers are able to be used at registered NSW BIG4 Holiday Parks. You can see which parks we have participating here:  Registered NSW BIG4 Parks.

1. Stay NSW Vouchers

NSW residents aged 18 and over will soon be able to apply for 1 x $50 voucher to use towards the cost of accommodation bookings. The addition of these vouchers are to help support accommodation providers and get you on your next holiday. These vouchers are not yet open for registration, so stay tuned!

Where to use your Stay NSW Voucher

Stay NSW vouchers can be used for accommodation only (any other services or additional costs must be paid directly to the provider).

The accommodation must be with a participating accommodation provider.

For stays at BIG4 holiday parks in NSW, please contact the park directly to book and redeem your Stay NSW vouchers. You can see which parks we have participating here: Registered NSW BIG4 Parks.

How to claim and use your Stay NSW Voucher

You will need to register for a Stay NSW voucher through Service NSW once they are available. Registration will open sometime in February 2022; be sure to check Service NSW for updates.

Voucher rules:

  • The Stay NSW voucher can be used seven days a week, including public holidays
  • The Stay NSW voucher can only be used at participating businesses
  • Businesses can accept vouchers for the cost of the room booking only
  • The Stay NSW voucher can only be used once. If the bill is less than $50, the remaining balance cannot be used
  • Businesses can accept a voucher for a booking that takes place after the voucher expires, as long as the voucher is redeemed before the voucher expiry date
  • The vouchers cannot be redeemed for any other products or services
  • The voucher must be used before 9 October 2022
  • Businesses cannot offer cash, a gift voucher, or a credit note in exchange for a Stay NSW voucher
  • Stay NSW vouchers can be combined for a single booking (if the business accepts split billing), however you cannot combine them with Parents NSW vouchers

The voucher will be in the form of a QR code. Each voucher will have a unique code. A registered Stay NSW provider can accept the code in the following ways:

  • On your mobile device as a digital voucher within the Service NSW app. To locate the voucher, log in to the app and select 'vouchers'
  • As a printed voucher with a QR code and unique voucher code
  • As a PDF with a QR code and unique voucher code
  • As an SMS with a unique code
  • By telling the provider the unique voucher code

2. Parents NSW Vouchers

To support learning from home in 2021, the NSW Government have launched additional vouchers for parents, carers, and guardians of school-enrolled children aged 4.5-18 years.

From now, one person from each eligible household can apply for 5 x $50 vouchers (a total of $250 in vouchers). Online applications are available on the Service NSW website.

Where to use your Parents NSW Voucher

Parents NSW vouchers can be used for arts, entertainment, or recreation experiences as well as accommodation at registered Discover NSW and Stay NSW businesses.

How to claim and use your Parents NSW Voucher

You will need to apply for Parents NSW vouchers. To check eligibility and apply online visit the Service NSW website.

Voucher rules:

  • The Parents NSW voucher can be used seven days a week, including public holidays
  • The Parents NSW voucher can be used at Stay NSW or Discover NSW participating businesses
  • Each Parents NSW voucher can only be used once. If the bill is less than $50, the remaining balance cannot be used
  • The voucher must be used before 9 October 2022
  • Businesses cannot offer cash, a gift voucher, or a credit note in exchange for a Parents NSW voucher
  • Parents NSW vouchers can be combined for a single booking (up to $250), however you cannot combine them with Stay NSW vouchers or Discover NSW vouchers

The voucher will be in the form of a QR code. Each voucher will have a unique code. A registered Stay NSW or Discover NSW provider can accept the code in the following ways:

  • On your mobile device as a digital voucher within the Service NSW app. To locate the voucher, log in to the app and select 'vouchers'
  • As a printed voucher with a QR code and unique voucher code
  • By telling the provider the unique voucher code
  • As an SMS with a unique code
  • As a PDF with a QR code and unique voucher code

3. Dine & Discover Vouchers

The Dine & Discover NSW vouchers were launched in 2021 to support dining, arts, and recreation businesses. As of 26 November 2021, the Dine & Discover NSW vouchers increased from four to six per person. The vouchers are available to NSW residents aged 18 and over and can be used at registered NSW businesses.

Where to use your Dine & Discover NSW Voucher

The Dine & Discover NSW vouchers are two separate sets of vouchers.

Dine NSW can be used for dining at participating businesses. These include but are not limited to:

  • Restaurants
  • Cafes
  • Bars
  • Wineries
  • Pubs/clubs
  • Fast food and takeaway (KFC, McDonalds, etc.)

Discover NSW can be used for arts and recreational experiences as long as they are with participating business. These include but are not limited to:

  • Cinemas (Yes! You can use your voucher at Hoyts, Village, and venues alike)
  • Museums, galleries, and historical sites
  • Zoos, botanic gardens, wildlife parks, and nature reserves
  • Performing arts operations, theatres, and entertainment centres
  • Amusement, theme, and water parks
  • Scenic and sightseeing transport
  • Outdoor adventures
  • Travel agencies and tours
  • Recreational activities such as go-karting, indoor climbing, mini-golf, billiards, bowling, or ice-rinks

How to claim and use your Dine & Discover NSW Voucher

If you've already applied for Dine & Discover NSW, the additional two vouchers will automatically appear in the Service NSW app, in your account, or via email. If you received your vouchers any other way and require assistance, you can contact Service NSW.

If you haven't applied, you can still apply for all six Dine & Discover NSW vouchers by registering on Service NSW.

Voucher Rules:

  • Dine & Discover NSW vouchers can be used seven days a week, including public holidays
  • Dine & Discover NSW vouchers can only be used at participating NSW businesses
  • The voucher can only be used until 30 June 2022
  • The voucher cannot be redeemed for cash or used for alcohol, tobacco, gambling, or online orders (Dine NSW only)
  • You can only redeem one Dine & Discover NSW voucher per day at a business
  • You cannot combine Dine NSW and Discover NSW vouchers together, however you can combine multiple of the same type of voucher together (eg. multiple Dine NSW vouchers towards the same bill if the business allows bill-splitting)
  • You cannot combine Discover NSW vouchers and Parents NSW vouchers together

The voucher will be in the form of a QR code. Each voucher will have a unique code. A registered Dine & Discover NSW provider can accept the code in the following ways:

  • On your mobile device as a digital voucher within the Service NSW app. To locate the voucher, log in to the app and select 'vouchers'
  • As a printed voucher with a QR code and unique voucher code
  • As a PDF with a QR code and unique voucher code
  • As an SMS with a unique code
  • By telling the provider the unique voucher code
