Penguin

Penguin is a charming seaside town on Tasmania's North West Coast, where the main street runs alongside the beach and there's always something happening. Known for its friendly locals, colourful character and creative community, Penguin is home to funky places to eat and stay, eclectic shops and Tasmania's largest undercover market, held every Sunday.

The town takes its name from the little penguins that once nested along the coast, while the much-loved Big Penguin keeps watch over the foreshore. Beyond the beach, the fertile farmland surrounding Penguin produces an abundance of fresh local produce.

For those who like to explore on two feet or two wheels, the Dial Range rises behind the town, with both walking and mountain bike trails winding through the forest. The Penguin Mountain Bike Park is just 2 km from town centre, providing access to longer and more challenging rides through the Dial Range.
