Rooted in the region's rich cultural heritage and strong river connections, the festival honours the traditional custodians the Mamu people who lived along the Johnstone and South Johnstone rivers.
Riverfest showcases Innisfail's diversity through a lively program of live music, cultural displays and family-friendly fun. Visitors enjoy performances by local artists, alongside delicious food stalls offering Greek, Filipino, Italian, and other multicultural cuisines.

The festival also features traditional Filipino dance, a Chinese dragon performance by the Innisfail Temple and community displays including a cane train exhibit from MSF Sugar, aerial display, hot rod cars and crowd-favourite mullet throwing. Children's activities keep younger guests entertained.

The day concludes with a headline act and fireworks over the river capturing the spirit, pride and vibrant identity of Innisfail.
