Sunshine Cove Beach is a sheltered, family-friendly snorkelling spot at Sunshine Bay, near Batemans Bay on the New South Wales south coast. Two prominent headlands enclose the cove and protect it from southerly swells, keeping the water relatively calm and suiting novice and experienced snorkellers alike.
Getting there: Sunshine Cove Beach is 5 km south of Batemans Bay via Beach Road, Sunshine Bay.
Setting: The beach is a mix of pebbles and sand, with a picturesque, quiet feel despite its closeness to town. Underwater, snorkellers find a mix of rocky reef, sandy bottom, and seaweed beds.
