Who is BIG4 Holiday Parks?

Are you new to BIG4? That’s ok!

You’ll be an expert in no time with this handy guide.

And as we’ve loaded it up with pretty pics, you’re also about to see why our holiday parks are loved so much.

Let’s take a quick tour…

Why is it called BIG4 Holiday Parks?

We’ll keep the history lesson short. Essentially, BIG4 began in 1979 in the regional Victorian city of Ballarat when four independent caravan park owners united.

Their focus way back then was on delivering first-rate accommodation, facilities, and service in its parks. And those aspects remain instrumental to the brand today.

Who owns BIG4?

We are a marketing cooperative, and all parks are franchisees that are individually owned and operated. Some are family businesses; others are owned by corporate groups.

Where are BIG4 parks located?

All over Australia! We have a network of roughly 180 holiday parks in every Australian state, as well as Northern Territory, and among so many key holiday destinations.

Beachside, riverside, lakeside, mountainside, or among classic regional Australian landscapes – you’ll find us everywhere.

You might even spot innovative accommodation like these gorgeous glamtainers...

What facilities are at a BIG4 park?

While no two BIG4s are the same, the likes of swimming pools, camp kitchens, playgrounds, games rooms, inflatable trampolines, and leisure facilities are pretty much park staples.

Family fun

Then there are those parks that are kids’ paradises with entertainment like:

There’s even one that has its own microbrewery...

Inclusive holidays

A handful of BIG4s have been pioneers in their field, installing sensory rooms dedicated to children on the autism spectrum and their families.

More and more BIG4 parks are welcoming dogs, and some have even installed fantastic facilities like agility courses and dog washes. Naturally, guest safety is paramount, so T&Cs apply.
