Keep River National Park

Historical Sites and Heritage Locations

This small but striking park features a diversity of landscapes, including sandstone ridges and 'Bungle Bungle-like' formations. The 2 km Goorrandalng Walk winds through sculpted sandstone, offering one magnificent view after another. At the northern end of the park, Jarnem offers a 7 km long loop walk, which can be split into two shorter return walks. The Jarnem Lookout Walk is especially beautiful in the soft light of early morning or late afternoon.
Keep River
There are two campgrounds in the park, both equipped with wood barbecues and water. Camping fees apply, and all sites must be booked online before your visit, as there is no phone signal in the park.

Keep River National Park sits within the traditional lands of the Miriwoong and Gajirrabeng people. Langgerrbi (Nigli Gap) at Jarnem displays rock art typical of the area, while Ginger's Hill and other sites near Jarnem highlight aspects of traditional Aboriginal culture.

The unsealed road into the park can be corrugated and may be inaccessible between November and April due to flooding. Always check road conditions before you travel.

Purchase an NT Parks Visitor Pass before you arrive. NT residents are exempt.
