Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve

Located about 70 km east of Darwin along the Arnhem Highway, Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve is one of the few wetland systems in the Top End that remains accessible all year round. Boardwalks guide visitors through a variety of landscapes, leading to observation platforms where you can view large numbers of resident wading birds.
The best time to experience the birdlife is from late March to early October. Two walking tracks let you explore the wetlands without getting your feet wet. These easy-graded paths take you through shady paperbark forests and out into the open floodplains, with shaded viewing platforms and lookouts along the way.
Visitors can also drive across the dam wall, stopping at bird hides along the way, and continue to the far side for elevated views from Pandanus Lookout which is especially popular for sunrise and sunset picnics.
