Things to See and Do in North West WA

A treasure chest of natural attractions dominates the must-see list within the North West WA region.

One of the biggest stars in these parts is the striking Bungle Bungle Range; orange and black-striped mounds often likened to huge beehives. This is just one gem found within World Heritage-listed Purnululu National Park – the many gorges make for remarkable viewing, too.

Karijini National Park grabs a piece of the spotlight. Its gorges, waterfalls, rock pools, and lookouts are magnetising. Broome’s long stretch of sand easily captures attention: a camel ride along Cable Beach is an iconic experience.

Lake Argyle, near Kununurra, is a great spot to relax and try to spot wildlife and bird life. Viewing this massive body of water on a scenic flight is unforgettable – this is the southern hemisphere’s biggest man-made lake.

Other water-related features that should not be missed in North West WA are the King George Falls and the Horizontal Waterfalls – both will blow you away.

North West WA incorporates The Kimberley, a massive space that is regarded as one of the last true wilderness areas on the planet.
