What does it cost to join in?
Nothing - it's free! but please register (www.parkrun.com.au/register) before your first run. Only ever register with parkrun once. Don't forget to bring a printed copy of your barcode (request a reminder - www.parkrun.com/runner/getbarcodelink). If you forget it, you won't get a time.
How fast do I have to be?
We all run for our own enjoyment. Please come along and join in whatever your pace!

The course is 5000m (5km) long. The course is at Tamworth, NSW. The course is run entirely on concrete paths. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Dependent on availability, marshals will be at key sections of the course, or signs will be in place.
This is an out-and-back course. The course starts between the Paradise Tourist Park and Hungry Jacks in Peel Street. The course runs behind Hungry Jacks, past the velodrome and through Bicentennial Park along the concrete path parallel to the Peel River for 2.5km. At this point you will turn around and head back to the starting point to finish your parkrun.
There are a few short ups and downs where the path goes under some roads but it is primarily flat. The width of the path only varies a little bit. At times you will run in the shade of the trees, at other times you will be out in the open with beautiful views of the Peel River.
Course tips: At path intersections, always turn toward but not over the river. The edges of the path are not even with the grass in places so please take care when moving off the path or overtaking.
All parkrun events use Age Grading to help athletes compare results. Age Grading takes your time and uses the world record time for your sex and age group to produce a score (a percentage). This score allows you to compare your personal performance against other people's performances even though they might be a different age and a different sex to you - the higher the score the better the performance. The scores can also be compared across different race distances - to allow you to, for example, compare a 5km time against a marathon.
