Whether you're in a self-contained caravan or pitching a tent, the Macquarie Woods Recreation Area provides free camping with an authentic bush experience, all just a short drive from Bathurst.

Facilities available: long drop toilets, picnic tables, fire pits, and pet-friendly camping.

Visitors should be aware that drinkable water is not available on-site and that unsealed roads are present in the state forest.
