What’s new? Exciting developments at BIG4 parks

BIG4 Park Beach in Coffs Harbour, NSW has just added a first-class entertainment area.

Various parks across the country have just completed an assortment of exciting, action-packed developments.

From splash parks to sky decks, these new features are set to inject even more fun into your next stay.

Here are some of the lively additions…

Indoor water park: BIG4 Narooma, NSW

There was already a lot to love about this park, including its glorious waterfront location. Now, it’s literally overflowing with appeal. It’s all thanks to the impressive new indoor heated water park, which opened in October.

The water park includes a dumping bucket, two slides, and various thrilling spray features that make for year-round fun. And adults will also enjoy the upgrade thanks to the addition of a huge new indoor heated spa pool.

SkyDeck Lounge: BIG4 Bright, VIC

The SkyDeck Lounge is set to become the go-to social area for visitors to BIG4 Bright. This facility will feature three sections: a luxury lounge complete with a fire for cooler months; a relaxed lounge that’s ideal for kicking back with drink in hand; and a deck area to soak up the sun.

The SkyDeck is expected to be a hub for a variety of in-park activities such as trivia, wine appreciation nights, and more. Look out for an expected opening date near the beginning of December.

Swimming pools: BIG4 Easts Beach, Kiama, NSW

Two brand new swimming pools have just opened at this popular South Coast NSW park, and right in time for summer. The first is a heated lounge pool complete with a plunge pool in its centre. There are also lounge chairs within the pool (yes, you read correctly) and a shallow area for younger children.

The other pool features two lap lanes, a play area, and outside sections well-suited to relaxing. Both pools have ramp access. The upgrade complements the existing ‘aquaventure’ park.

BIG4 Easts Beach is all set to be a big hit this summer.

MTB Bunkhouse Area: BIG4 St Helens, TAS

Mountain bike enthusiasts, take note. BIG4 St Helens has recently opened a brand-new MTB Bunkhouse Area that’s the perfect base for an adrenaline-filled escape. This is a dedicated space for mountain biking groups – but not exclusive to riders –and includes cabins, a huge outdoor camp kitchen, fire pit, wood-fired pizza oven, bike wash-down and maintenance area, and secure lock-up.

This facility will complement a series of mountain bike tracks that are currently being created close to the park and which are due to be rolled out over the next two years.

Water slides: NRMA Mildura Riverside Holiday Park, VIC

Mildura is an enticing destination for a break, as is the wider Murray River area. And that appeal has been amplified with the instillation of two new water slides at BIG4 Golden River, which opened at the start of November.

Both are almost 3m high: One is a speed slide with a left-hand turn; the other includes a full loop for maximum thrills. Better yet, the slides cater to both kids and big kids at heart.

Glamping tents: BIG4 Caloundra, QLD

Glamping is all the rage, and this Sunshine Coast park has joined the safari sensation. Three glamping tents opened to the public in September and have been a hit since. Featuring solar lighting and furniture created from recycled timber pallets, these funky tents sit on an elevated hardwood deck.

And while they’re well-suited to a couples’ escape, the tents are also ideal for families with ample room for two adults and up to three kids.

The glamping tents at BIG4 Caloundra are full of charm.

Eco tents: BIG4 Howard Springs, Darwin, NT

The glamping craze has found its way to the Top End, too. BIG4 Howard Springs has unveiled a pair of eco tents that include an open-plan interior and private barbecue among other features.

Outside, the tents have a private spacious veranda with rocking chairs and three-seat outdoor setting, which is perfect for indulging in the park’s relaxing holiday vibe.

The Hub entertainment area: BIG4 Park Beach, Coffs Harbour, NSW

There was already a lot to keep guests entertained at this popular park, but the interest has received a boost with the opening of The Hub since late September. Overlooking the park’s resort-style pool, this precinct received a significant upgrade with the addition of both indoor and outdoor seating – including poolside lounges – as well as a big screen and games room.

This area is primed to be a key site for kids’ club activities in school holidays and movie nights at selected times.

Entertainment area, food truck, café: BIG4 West Beach Parks, Adelaide, SA

The facilities just keep getting better at BIG4 West Beach Parks. In September, the park unveiled a brand new entertainment area complete with tables and chairs, a fire pit, and festoon lighting. Its positioning near the pool means parents can supervise their kids at play with coffee in hand.

In addition, there’s a roving on-site food truck, and the park’s café has had a complete facelift and now comes with a more relaxed, holiday-style menu. It all means there’s no need to even leave the park!

Whole new site: BIG4 Ceduna, SA

BIG4 Ceduna has undergone a huge transformation with an entire new park being developed across the road that will complement its existing site.

And it’s set to lure anglers during fishing season (March to May) thanks to the addition of a brand-new fish-cleaning bay and crab-cooking area. These facilities should be completed by the end of November and in ample time before keen fishers descend on the town to catch King George whiting, squid, and blue swimmer crabs. Caravanners will also love the inclusion of drive-through sites.

A whole new section has been added to BIG4 Ceduna across the road from its existing site.

Upgraded splash park: BIG4 Inverloch, VIC

BIG4 Inverloch lays claim to be the first holiday park in Australia to install an indoor heated splash park (opened 2015). And it will again be a place for a kids’ congregation following a major upgrade that included retiling of its floor – for better user comfort – and the addition of an eco-friendly modern heating system.

Also, this Gippsland-based park has recently added a second barbecue area and a Modular Pumptrack, ensuring it’s set to be a popular holiday location in the coming months.

BIG4 Inverloch's pioneering splash park has received an upgrade.

Coffee van: BIG4 Karuah Jetty, Port Stephens, NSW

Getting a quality caffeine fix with ease is now a simple task at BIG4 Karuah Jetty. Conveniently, the park opened a permanent coffee van onsite a couple of months ago. This means barista-made coffee and a wide range of other drinks and snacks are all on offer within easy reach of guests' accommodation.

Amenity block mural: BIG4 Iluka, Coles Bay, TAS

BIG4 Iluka has received an extra dose of colour thanks to the addition of a wonderful mural on the amenity block. Completed in late October, the mural depicts Coles Bay, the iconic The Hazards mountain range, and local marine life among more.

The work was created by Tasmanian-born artist Damian Cazaly, winner of the prestigious 2018 Rochester Mural Festival.

Brand new park: BIG4 Sandstone Point, QLD

This park doesn’t have just one new-fangled feature to mention – the entire place is brand new! If you haven’t already heard, this resort-style park has been created from nothing to become one of the most-hyped leisure accommodation sites for years.
