Biting bream makes the Manning River a mighty choice

There's plenty of fish to catch in the Manning River.

Are you looking for a great fishing spot in the North Coast of New South Wales? Then mark down the Manning River. The team at  BIG4 Ocean Shores Holiday Park has put together a few tips for those looking to hook a catch when on holidays in the area. And they should know these parts well – their park can be found at the picturesque village of Manning Point, which provides the easiest of access to the Manning River.

If fishing in the lower parts of the Manning River, prepare to be spoiled for choice. You are blessed with ample options to land bream in what are some of the best fishing grounds on the North Coast of New South Wales.

We’ve nominated three first-rate fishing locations that are conveniently located less than a five-minute boat ride from each other. You have the opportunity to fish Harrington break wall, the oyster leases and weed beds at Manning Point, or skip around the corner to Pelican Bay to attack the best structures for bream, including oyster leases, weed beds, and the mangrove trees overhanging the bay.

If you have no luck in these spots, you can quickly move on to another prime bream habitat: Scotts Creek is a reliable location for catching bream in the Manning River. This creek consists of oyster leases for about 3km, starting at Croki in the north to Farquhar Inlet in the southeast.

And if you are really struggling to land a bite, at least the views won’t let you down! BIG4 Ocean Shores Holiday Park is located on a spit that separates the Manning River from the sea. So not only does this ensure the park is just a short walk from the ocean beach and the Manning River, but it also means these surrounds provide a large dose of spectacular scenery.

Happy fishing!
