In addition, the area has significant ties to World War One, with Albany being the departure point for the majority of ANZAC troops leaving for Europe.

Not only do we have a playground on our park and one next door on the beach front, but Eyre Park only a 5 minute walk away. Eyre Park is one of Albany's best public playgrounds, complete with big slides, great swings, see-saws, enclosed sandpits, basketball court, ladders and castles and all things that spin and make you dizzy!!!
Walk the scenic boardwalk around Mt Adelaide into town, or along Middleton Beach into Emu Point

Albany Boatshed Markets

Old Marron Farm and Animal Park
Great fun activity for all to enjoy. See heaps of farm animals, plus walk through the giant bird aviary and feed the birds, right out of your hand! Plus, once you've done all that, head to the cafe for a bite to eat and try some local marron!
Great Southern Distillery
Using locally sourced ingredients of outstanding quality we take our time to produce small batches of hand crafted spirits. Our Limeburners Single Malt Whisky is produced from Southern Wheat Belt barley and our white spirits are distilled using grapes from the Great Southern an Margaret River wine regions. Open 7 days from 10am - 5pm, the cellar door is a relaxing way to taste through our portfolio. Enjoy locally roasted coffee from Naked Bean and a few tapas while soaking in the harbour view.
Whale World - Discovery Bay
Come explore our fascinating whaling history with a visit to the restored Historic Whaling Station, which was built in the 1950’s and operational into the late 1970’s. Learn about the Cheynes Beach Whaling Company, the last to close in Australia and climb aboard the famous whale chaser to experience life on board an actual whaling ship.
