Swim, build sandcastles, play some beach cricket, meditate, take a stroll or fossick for shells and treasures washed up along any of the beautiful beaches at your doorstep. Only a short drive away, you can experience two of the best beaches in Western Australia with Hangover Bay and Kangaroo Point. Windsurfing and Kitesurfing
Cervantes is an international windsurfing and kitesurfing hotspot attracting surfers from around the world. The annual ‘Cervantes Speed’ event in November sees competitors vie for the fastest windsurfer on the protected waters of Thirsty Point. Turquoise Way Trail
Whether you walk, jog, cycle, scooter, push a pram or hire a Segway, the Turquoise Way Trail is perfect for all ages. The 14.2 kilometre sealed track stretches along the coast from the Jurien Bay Marina to the Hill River Mouth taking in stunning views of the coast. Breath in the fresh Indian Ocean air as you pass the Jurien Bay Jetty and enjoy a day at the Dobbyn Park foreshore area with its beautiful grassed picnic spots and gazebos, playground, outdoor gym, toilets and playgrounds
The Pinnacles in Nambung National Park
The entrance to the Nambung National Park is a short 2 km drive east of the Cervantes Holiday Park and contains one of Australia’s most fascinating landscapes – The Pinnacles Desert. Out of the shifting yellow sands rise thousands of huge limestone pillars, standing in stark contrast to the surrounding low heathlands typical of the Coral Coast. The Nambung National Park also hosts the outstanding Pinnacles Desert Discovery Centre to inform and enlighten visitors on the natural limestone formations but also the abundant natural wildlife and wildflowers within the 17,487 hectare park. Visitors can walk the 1.5 km (45 mins return) Desert View Trail or observe the scenery from the Lookout
Skydive Jurien Bay

From the south of Cervantes to Green Head in the north, an incredible variety of marine life can be found in our coastal waters. Badgingarra Nature Trail
A short drive from Cervantes, the spectacular and diverse wildflower display along the Badgingarra Nature Trail (a 90 minute walk across rugged terrain), is a sight not to be missed. Ensure you bring your binoculars and camera to capture the kangaroos, wedge-tailed eagles, emus including the extremely rare Badgingarra Mallee at home in the vast bushland. For the avid walker, a 45 minute detour will reward visitors with magnificent views across the National Park at the lookout.
Lake Thetis Stromatolites
Located one kilometre out of Cervantes (off the Hansen Bay Lookout Rd), lies Lake Thetis which contains stromatolites in its waters. It is estimated the lake became isolated from the sea about 4800 years ago when sea levels dropped and coastal dunes formed around it. Lake Thetis is one of only a few places in the world with living marine stromatolites, or ‘Living fossils’. The stromatolites are one of the earliest forms of life to evolve on earth. Samples from these living organisms indicate similarities with fossils from up to 3 billion years ago and are one of the few living organisms to produce oxygen.
Stockyard Gully National Park
Located north-east of Green Head, Stockyard Gully National Park was named after one of the stopping places used by drovers. A feature is the 300 metre Stockyard Tunnel, which follows a winding underground creek bed. Torches are required in the tunnel. The Stockyard Gully Caves provide an ideal day trip and local tours are available. Access available via four-wheel drive only
