The town's beach is great for swimming and fishing, with the only ocean access boat ramp along the coast situated at the Apollo Bay harbour. Stroll through the town centre for unique local shopping and a range of restaurants and cafes that make full use of access to fresh local produce including the Fisherman's Co-op. The 12 Apostles
Rising like giant exclamation marks from the ocean floor, the famous 12 Apostles dominate the spectacular coastline near Port Campbell, approximately 85 mins drive south of Apollo Bay. The towering limestone stacks, some standing 65 metres above the wild waves, are nothing short of spectacular. Like many of the stunning natural formations that you'll find along this rugged stretch of coast, the 12 Apostles were fashioned over millions of years by the relentless action of wind and tide.
Lookouts and Waterfalls
The lookouts close to Apollo Bay provide magnificent views of the countryside and ocean. Some that should not be missed include * Cape Patton Lookout * Crow's Nest Lookout * Marriners Lookout * The Gable and West Barwon Reservoir. Don't miss the stunning Triple Falls, Marriners Falls and Little Aire Falls.
The Great Ocean Walk
The Great Ocean Walk, on Victoria's spectacular west coast, stretches 104km from the idyllic resort town of Apollo Bay, to within sight of the magnificent 12 Apostles. Weave through beautiful National Parks, walk deserted beaches and gaze over pristine marine sanctuaries. Step on and off the trail with convenience; enjoy comfortable accommodation and excellent local meals or pitch your tent at wildly picturesque spots along the way.
The Otway Fly Treetop Adventure
The Otway Fly Treetop Walk is a 1 hour rainforest walk along a 600m long, 30m high steel structured treetop canopy walkway. It’s the longest and tallest walkway of its type in the world. Included is the kids Prehistoric Path, with a dinosaur around every corner. The Otway Fly Zip Line Tour is unique to Victoria and a great adventure of zip line activities including 8 cloud stations, 6 flights and 2 suspension bridges and 1 hour for the Treetop Walk.
Cape Otway Lightstation
Cape Otway Lightstation is the oldest surviving and most important lighthouse in mainland Australia. Built in 1848, the lighthouse perches on towering sea cliffs where Bass Strait and the Southern Ocean collide. Hundreds of lives were lost in shipwrecks off Cape Otway – a sad but fascinating history which led to the building of the Lightstation on the coast at the foot of the impenetrable forests of the Otways. For many thousands of 19th century migrants, who spent months travelling to Australia by ship, Cape Otway was their first sight of land after leaving Europe.
Karmic Goat Soapworks
Karmic Goat Soapworks is nestled in the Otway Rainforest, near Apollo Bay. Established as a dairy in 1900 Fernside Farm has gone back to its roots - offering goats milk soap and body care products from our stud herd of holistically raised Saanen milking goats. The all natural goats milk products are handcrafted at the farm. Karmic Goat Soapworks offer a huge variety of soaps, skincare products, salves, balms and liniments, herbal and aromatherapy products.
Apollo Bay Aviation and Scenic Flights
Let pilot, Vic Bongiorno, show you the rugged and stunning Great Ocean Road coastline from his Apollo Bay 6 seat, S.T.O.L. equipped, high wing-line Cessna 206 aircraft. You will see the spectacular sites including the 12 Apostles and Otway old growth rainforests. Vic, an Apollo Bay local, began flying in South Africa in 1979 and has flown recreationally in Australia, USA and Papua New Guinea.

Our Surf School runs on the magnificent foreshore of Apollo Bay and lessons include instruction, full length wetsuits and especially designed safe soft boards. Hundreds of visitors to Apollo Bay learn to surf with us every year.

Apollo Bay Seal Kayak Tours
Paddle out to the Seal Colony viewing the coast's beautiful hills and reefs from the ocean. Have fun paddling as a team in our 2 seated kayaks, and then those adventurous types can catch waves back to the shore.Two hour tour includes instruction in Surf Safety and Ocean Awareness at Marengo Marine Sanctuary and all equipment including wetsuits, helmets and life jackets.
Kidz Kingdom Indoor Play Park, Colac
Our aim is to provide a fun and safe environment where children can play and parents can relax, with state-of-the-art Playtec playground equipment. The play park is housed in a purpose built building which conforms to the latest environmental regulations. We cater for children of all ages and abilities. There are two major play areas – a large play structure for children 4 to 12 years and a separate, enclosed area for toddlers up to 4 years. Colac is approx 1 hour drive from Apollo Bay
Apollo Bay Farmer's Market

The Farmer's Market is on the third Sunday of every month at the Youth Club in Apollo Bay. Come and enjoy the market atmosphere, shop for your groceries in a relaxed environment, meet the producers face to face to chat about their wares and feel good knowing that you are supporting local businesses. Our mission is to showcase some of the finest culinary delights being produced in and around the Otways. The market offers fabulously fresh local produce including: wine, freshly baked bread, pies, fruit and veg, honey and lots more.
