Fishing Report 27th December 2018

 

Lakes Entrance

Eastern Beach for Salmon on blue bait and lures. Fraser Island to Nungurner for Whiting and King George Whiting on pipis, mussel and worm. Offshore at Six Mile Reef for Snapper, Flathead, School Shark and are Gummies closer to the beach.

 

Lake Tyers

Some Tailor are about. Flathead at the Glass House banks on pilchard. Long Point for Bream on fresh prawn. Gummies on the surf beach taking squid.

 

Mitchell River

The river mouth, The Cut and Grassy Banks for Bream on soft shell, spider crab, soft plastics and prawn.

 

Tambo River

Best spots for Bream are at Rough Road and half way down the river towards the mouth. Best results using worm and peeled prawn.

 

Nicholson

From the boat ramp to Pear Tree and The Swimming Hole for Bream. Towards the river mouth for Tailor and Mullet on worm.

 

Metung

King George Whiting are around the Nungurner area and down towards Fraser Island. Shaving Point has some Whiting as well on worm and pipis.

 

Paynesville

Some juvenile Kingfish are about Newlands Arm and Duck Arm has Flathead on prawn and worm. The Strait for Mullet on worm. Some squid and prawns are also about.

 

Holland’s Landing

Flathead are at the eastern bank taking soft plastics. Prawns at both banks and down to Point Wilson. The surf for Flathead on pilchard.

 

Marlo

The Brodribb River has Perch on live prawn. Bream are taking worm. French’s Narrows for Flathead and prawn. The surf for Salmon. Offshore is also fishing well.

 

Bemm River

The channel for Flathead taking soft plastics. Bream are in the lake taking prawn, hard bodied lures and cured worm. The surf for Salmon.

 

Tamboon Inlet

Bream are in the river taking worm and prawn. Egan’s Bank for Flathead on lures and pilchard. Old Man Corner for Trevally and Pinkies on pilchard. The surf for Salmon on blue poppers and pilchard.

 

Mallacoota

The surf for Salmon on the incoming tide taking pilchard and poppers. Flathead in the Bottom Lake and The Narrows on lures. The Top Lake for Bream and Flathead on yabbies and pilchard. Tailor are chasing lures, and the best results are had from trolling.

 

Omeo High Country

All rivers are worth a try. Check what insects are about and match up lures and fly patterns. Also try worms.
