Airlie Beach Running Festival 20-21 July 2019, The Airlie Beach Running Festival is organised by the Whitsunday Running Club and will be run for the seventh consecutive year. It has developed into one of the ‘must do’ events on the running calendar for people living in North Queensland with the majority of participants coming from the region between Cairns and Rockhampton.
Whitsunday Reef Festival kicking off 1 - 4 August 2019, the vibrant coastal town of Airlie Beach will come alive in August, as the Whitsunday Reef Festival hits town. The annual favourite festival, is a delicious combination of family fun, community events, all-night celebrations, food, fireworks and one of the biggest street parties in the north.
Airlie Beach Race Week 8 - 15 August 2019 is now affectionately known as the festival of sailing in the Whitsundays. The 7 day long sailing regatta is a colourful event which attracts some 5000 people to the host club Whitsunday Sailing Club annually. After sailing, the Whitsunday Sailing Club hosts enjoyable social events each evening with live music, prizes and giveaways and great food and drinks.
Airlie Beach Triathlon 23-25 August 2019, the triathlon itself involves a swim in the azure waters of a sheltered bay just meters from the vibrant heart of the Great Barrier Reef; Airlie Beach township. The bike is a challenging, spectator friendly course whilst the run is held on the Bicentennial Boardwalk, which wraps around the headlands adjacent to the beautiful Coral Sea.
