There are a myriad of events in the Whitsundays for all to enjoy.....Christmas in July on 25th July by the pool is an old favourite enjoyed by many house-guests staying at BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort with traditional Christmas carol singing followed by a tradional spit roast with all of the trimmings and don't forget our season social array of activities from pancake breakfasts by the pool, weekly spit roasts dinners, cheese and wine afternoons, movies on the outdoor cinema and so much more and don't forget our pool is heated to a lovely 28 degrees .....
Whitsunday Reef Festival kicking off 3 - 6 August, the vibrant coastal town of Airlie Beach will come alive in August, as the Whitsunday Reef Festival hits town. The annual favourite festival, is a delicious combination of family fun, community events, all-night celebrations, food, fireworks and one of the biggest street parties in the north.
Airlie Beach Race Week 10 - 17 August is now affectionately known as the festival of sailing in the Whitsundays. The 7 day long sailing regatta is a colourful event which attracts some 5000 people to the host club Whitsunday Sailing Club annually. After sailing, the Whitsunday Sailing Club hosts enjoyable social events each evening with live music, prizes and giveaways and great food and drinks.
Airlie Beach Triathlon is on again this year 3rd September, the triathlon itself involves a swim in the azure waters of a sheltered bay just meters from the vibrant heart of the Great Barrier Reef; Airlie Beach township. The bike is a challenging, spectator friendly course whilst the run is held on the Bicentennial Boardwalk, which wraps around the headlands adjacent to the beautiful Coral Sea.
