IRONMAN Asia-Pacific Championship Cairns

The week-long Cairns Airport Adventure Festival builds up to the IRONMAN Asia-Pacific Championship Cairns race on 12 June 2016. The Championship features arguably the most spectacular bike course in the world, where competitors race up the Captain Cook Highway hugging the coastline from Cairns to Port Douglas. From reef to World Heritage listed rainforest, and a run along the stunning Cairns boardwalk, the race finishes in the heart of the city. This race has become a ‘must-do’ on the IRONMAN circuit, and there is every reason to believe the hype. The IRONMAN Asia-Pacific Championship brings to Cairns 75 qualifying slots to the 2016 IRONMAN World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.

The CIAF 2015 cultural festivities welcomed more visitors than ever before - 50,000 attended - enjoying the diversity of Far North Queensland Indigenous culture, taking the chance to attend and buy the latest in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island art from across Queensland, at the very first CIAF Art Market. The now famous CIAF daily program offered dance and music performance, artist and industry talks, art workshops and film screenings.
Cairns to Karumba Bike Ride
