Kianinny Bay (5 min drive) , Launch your boat for an open water fishing adventure, swim in the calm waters of the bay, checkout the days catch by the returning fishermen, have a picnic or bbq while the kids play. For the adventurous Kianinny Bay is the head of the Kangarutha Walking trail.

Nelsons Lagoon (10min drive) Located within Mimosa Rocks National Park, Nelsons is protected from the North Easterly wind, and a beautiful beach and estuary for swimming, surfing, and relaxing on the beach. You can also do the headland walk out to Wajurda Point lookout platform to look for whales in their migration North(May-July) or South (Sept-Nov).

Bithry Inlet (25min drive) Located within Mimosa Rocks National Park, Bithry Inlet is the entrance for Wopengo Lake. It is a beautiful sandy beach area on the estuary, great for swimming and fishing. BBQ facilities are available for picnicing. There is also a fantastic bush walk over the headland in which you can discover the history of the Myer & Grounds families connection to the area.

Bournda National Park & Lagoon (15min drive) Another beautiful national park on the southern boundary of Tathra. Bournda is criss crossed with walking and biking trails, with the eastern boundary being kilometers of open ocean beach. You can take the walking trail to the trig point on top of the hill and take in the views over Bournda Island and the coastline North and South. Bournda Lagoon is a small body of water sheltered in behind the sand dunes and protected from the Easterly winds. Good for swimming and picnicing with BBQs available.
