Kosciuszko Express Chairlift
The scenic chairlift is open 365 days a year. The Kosciuszko Express Chairlift is 1.8km long and rises 560 vertical metres. The ride takes 15 minutes one way and offers spectacular valley views as you are lifted to the closest access point to Mount Kosciuszko.
The Thredbo Bobsled is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. With 700m of luge style track the bobsled twists and turns its way down the mountain whilst you control the speed with a brake on your cart. It's great fun for all the family. Thredbo Golf Course
Play a round of golf on Australia's highest course The nine hole, AGU rated course is bordered by the Thredbo river and has unique and challenging features such as the snake pit and Wally Wombat's House. Winding along the Thredbo River and around the base of mountain this course is a pleasure to play. It is dotted with wildflowers, lined with eucalyptus and it has a little bit of everything providing even seasoned golfers with unique challenges. The course is home to 1 x Par 5 hole, 4 x Par 4 holes, 4 x Par 3 holes with each hold offering a different spectacular view of Thredbo Valley and its surrounding Alpine peaks.
Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre Cooma
This state-of-the-art visitor facility showcases the amazing story of the Snowy Mountains Scheme from the early construction days, to the role the Scheme plays today in the continuing development and growth of Australia. Click on the Windows Media or Quicktime files to the right to view a short promotional video on the Centre! The Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre houses a comprehensive exhibition hall that includes an extensive photographic collection, models, hands-on exhibits and interactive displays, which focus on aspects such as engineering, environment, the National Electricity Market, history, water management and power generation.
Murray 1 Visitors Centre - Alpine Way
Murray 1 Power Station is the second largest power station in the Snowy Mountains Scheme. There are 10 turbines at Murray 1, each capable of producing enough electricity to supply over 95,000 houses. Next to the power station is the Murray 1 Visitors Centre. This centre offers an exciting interactive experience with a wide range of displays, “hands on”models and exhibits. There are BBQ and picnic areas by the water that are open to the public. Light refreshments are available in the Cafe. Safety is important at all times while visiting the Scheme. Talbingo Visitor Display
Talbingo Visitor Display The Snowy Mountains Scheme Talbingo Visitor Display is located at the Talbingo Shopping Centre and provides information on Tumut 3 Power Station. There are also a number of displays and models on the Snowy Mountains Scheme. This visitor display will be open 7 days a week between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm. Entry is free.
