Tallebudgera Creek

Tallebudgera is best known for its sparkling creek which is framed by the Burleigh Heads National Park on one side and Palm Beach on the other. This is the focal point for any visit to Tallebudgera where the life is all about swimming, picnicking, kayaking and a spot of fishing or two. Ancient Aboriginal people used to call this Gold Coast suburb "good fish".

Tallebudgera Creek is a great place for an easy day trip from BIG4 Tweed. Kids will enjoy swimming in the shallows. Take care though, as the current can be so strong sometimes. The main swimming area and parking are on the southern side of the creek mouth. Lifesavers are stationed all over the creek and some are patrolling the water in holidays and weekends. You can also do a lot of water activities like stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, snorkeling, etc.

Bring a picnic as there are some tables or the local surf club has a cafe. There's a small playground to keep the children busy. If you want to go there, plan your trip in advance as parking can be busy. Try mid-week if possible.

If you're into bushwalking, you can cross the bridge and try the Burleigh Headland walk. This 4km easy walk has great views and few places to stop for a swim in Tally Creek on the northern side of the creek mouth.
