Things to see and do..
Manly: Check out colourful marine life at Oceanworld, entertain the kids at Manly Waterworks, rent a kayak or ocean ski for a harbour or ocean paddle, enjoy one of the many fine waterfront restaurants, shop, swim or take a walk around to Shelley Beach (one of the few east coast beaches with a westerly aspect) to capture the setting sun. There are booking agencies in the Corso for tours and sports hire, such as bike riding, roller blading, tennis, golf and parasailing. Manly offers excellent shopping and its proximity to the city make it an ideal starting point for ferry trips to Taronga Zoo and other Sydney Harbour attractions. A visit to Quarantine Station at North Head is a must – and while you are at North Head, take a look at North Fort Artillery. Do the Manly-to-Spit walk. Brookvale, Harbord and Curl Curl: For a rainy-day escape, check out Warringah Mall at Brookvale. Another great family spot (for swimming) is Freshwater Beach at Harbord. If you are feeling active, take a relaxing walk around nearby Curl Curl Lagoon. HOGS BREATH CAFE
An Aussie Success Story with lots of Grunt! "There are many things we've never done, but we ain't never had too much fun", so the Hog's Breath slogan goes. It's an expression of a philosophy that has made Hog's Breath a tear away success story. Indeed, whenever Australian home-grown franchise systems are spoken about, Hog's Breath invariably gets a mention. Why? Because for a franchise system to expand from a single outlet to 70 in just 17 years, it must be getting most things right. It all started with our founding father, Don Algie, or should we say Boss Hog, sailing along the Queensland coast and settling into the idyllic surrounds of the Whitsunday Islands. The doors of the first restaurant were opened in July 1989 at Airlie Beach, North Queensland. In November the following year, a second store was opened in Mooloolaba. Additional stores quickly followed with locations opening in Townsville City, Darwin, and Cairns and along the eastern seaboard. So what has made the Hog's Breath system so successful that it has grown at an average rate of six new outlets every twelve months for the past few years? The answer has to do with providing a unique dining experience within the Australian marketplace. From day one Hog's Breath set out to be unlike any other restaurant in appearance, atmosphere, style and type of service it offered patrons. Hog's Breath can be credited with developing and specialising Prime Rib Steaks in Australia, with the boast that there's not a more tender, mouth-watering steak to be found anywhere. To complement this signature dish and its diverse menu, Hog's Breath has created a distinctive style for people who enjoy casual dining experiences. In a nutshell, it's all about providing quality food and beverage services in an informal, yet comfortable environment with an overriding friendly, party atmosphere. Quite simply, the basic Hog's Breath philosophy is "have fun and enjoy yourself" - a principle engendered by its unique operating style and unlikely decor that sees walls crowded with unusual paraphernalia and memorabilia. In truth it's a place you have to personally experience to fully appreciate its rather different and exceptional reputation. All Hog's Breath Cafes are in essence themed licensed restaurants catering to all ages. They incorporate three interacting components - a seated food service area, a licensed saloon bar and a merchandise shop exclusively carrying the Hogster clothing label. The phenomenal success of the Hog's Breath chain in the Australian marketplace has allowed all outlets to significantly enhance the socio/economic infrastructure of their localities, proving to be strong drawcards for their town, earning important tourism dollars and providing much needed local job opportunities. Hog's Breath also has a close affinity with sport in V8 Supercars, Drag Racing, Extreme Sport, Golf, water sports such as sailing and surfing, and numerous junior sports. Through generous sponsorship of these and other outdoor community events, Hog's Breath promotes and encourages an active lifestyle. And as for dining out? It doesn't get any better because at Hog's Breath it's a party every night!

WATERWORKS
With fully supervised giant slides and a large spectator viewing area, Manly Waterworks is the perfect place for an action packed, fun, safe and easy day out with the kids. Ride the twisted Cobra, dare the slippery python or slither in the blackened tube of the Insane Earthworm…you just won't want to leave! Why not plan your next children's Birthday Party? Or even get a large group together and have the place to yourselves?

WALKING TRACKS
Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park is where the Hawkesbury River meets the sea: a tight cluster of secretive, winding creeks, sheltered beaches, hidden coves and wide expanses of deep blue water. You'll find heathlands on the sandstone ridges, dense forests on the slopes, and mangroves on the tidal mudflats. The park's scenic beauty is combined with a rich Aboriginal heritage and a strong sense of history. So it's hardly surprising that millions of walkers, boaters, swimmers and picnickers have visited this icon Sydney park since it opened in 1894. On 12 July 2006 this park was added to the National Heritage List.
