The Big Red Kidney Bus
We've had the pleasure of welcoming back the Big Red Kidney Bus with many new and returning dialysis patients. Never heard of the Big Red Kidney Bus? It is a world first initiative that delivers the necessary therapy for haemodialysis patients as it travels around Victoria and New South Wales.
Kidney Health Australia's award-winning Big Red Kidney Bus program provides a mobile haemodialysis service, allowing those who require haemodialysis the chance to have a holiday whilst still receiving treatment.
The Big Red Kidney Buses are open to all Australians on hospital, satellite or home haemodialysis. The buses travel to popular holiday destinations across Victoria and NSW, where they are located for up to six weeks at a time, staffed by experienced dialysis nurses and renal technicians.
If it wasn't for the Big Red Kidney Bus a lot of people would not be able to holiday! Monash Health, Kidney Health Australia and all their staff and nurses deserve a medal, the joy they bring to so many people is heart-warming.
