BIG4 Holiday Parks Local Site Tour

Take this opportunity to explore BIG4’s local Parks, located just minutes from Cairns city. BIG4 Cairns Crystal Cascades Holiday Park and Cairns Coconut Holiday Resort are opening up their doors for you.

You will be guided through each BIG4 property by the owner/manager at a leisurely pace and will be informed on what works best for them, how they combat seasonal issues when they arise and other insights.

Beverages and light snacks will be provided. This is a great opportunity to make contact within the BIG4 community, to meet the local owners and get to know their properties.

ATV (All Terrain Vehicles) Riding Tour

ATV’s (all terrain vehicles) are easy to ride and provide the perfect transportation through the rainforest. Picture yourself zooming along the rainforest bed and adventure trails that zig zag their way across the property with friends and colleagues on your very own 4 wheeled motor bikes. There are a few water traps and hill climbs to negotiate.

After completing a safety and introductory course, you will be placed in a group of similar skill level, and provided with either a 250cc ATV or a lighter 90cc ATV. Your fantastic guides will lead you out for as much fun as you can handle whilst getting down and dirty.

Light refreshments will be provided upon completion of the tour.

Green Island Tropical Paradise

Just 27km across the Coral Sea from Cairns, a tropical paradise waits for you at Green Island. Green Island is a beautiful coral cay which enjoys world acclaim as a tropical paradise on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. The island is a protected Marine Park which is readily identified from the air by its emerald rainforest surrounded by white sandy beaches and magnificent coral reefs.

Revel in an array of activities or relax and let you day unfold as you soak up the sun. You will be able to participate in unique activities such as Seawalker, Parasailing, or snorkel and dive amongst some of the most spectacular coral gardens and marine life diversity on the Great Barrier Reef. The marine life is abundant including endless varieties of colourful fish, giant clams, starfish, sea anemones, turtles and much more.

Upon arrival to Green Island you will have the afternoon free to spend it how you want to. All snorkelling equipment is available for your use on this tour.

Cairns Habitat Exclusive Cruise

View hundreds of estuarine crocodiles, large and small at Australia’s largest commercial farm. Your tour through the farm includes and informative commentary about crocodiles and this fascinating industry.

Crocodile Adventures

Located on the magnificent coastal drive between Palm Cove and Port Douglas, Hartleys Crocodile Adventures is the best place to see crocodiles and native wildlife in Tropical North Queensland. Set in the foothills of the MacAlister Range, in a World Heritage listed area, Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures is home to a range of habitat types including the Melaleuca wetlands, riverine rainforest and eucalypt woodland.

Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures provides an innovative approach to viewing and interacting with wildlife, enabling visitors to become immersed in a natural environment with safety. A series of timber boardwalks provide elevated viewing of wildlife as visitors journey through a range of natural habitats.

You will be given the opportunity to cruise along the Melaleuca wetlands – the domain of the saltwater crocodiles, and witness crocodiles feeding live from the boat.

Kuranda Village and Skyrail

You will be greeted by your friendly drive/guide and escorted by coach to Kuranda, “Village in the Rainforest”. Explore the charming village of Kuranda. Stroll through the renowned local markets, visit the Australia Butterfly Sanctuary and colourful Birdworld, interact with the normally reclusive Koala at Koala Gardens or take a walk to the Nocturnal Zoo. Sample the local fare or simply enjoy a refreshing tropical fruit ice cream.

Then its time to board Skyrail, for a 7.5km journey gliding over and under the rainforest canopy, in what is possibly the worlds most beautiful rainforest experience. Be astounded by magnificent panoramas as you scale the lushly covered mountain range. You will have two opportunities en route to leave your gondola for a walk through the rainforest, or a visit to the CSIRO Interpretive Centre. This will conclude at the Caravonica Lakes Skyrail cableway station where your coach will be waiting to carry you back to your hotel.
